A Snapshot of Lutheran East Athletics

Athletics have always played a large role in Lutheran East’s history and that’s true still today. For the most up to date information, let me recommend visiting our website (www.lutheraneast.org) or following us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Here are a few stories worth highlighting.

Football

The Falcons Football team enters the final week of the regular season with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses, and are looking to finish the season with a win as they push towards the playoffs! The Falcons are under the direction of third year head coach Adam Bickel who, along with his staff, has the Falcons playing a tough and disciplined game. It’s exciting to see that Coach Bickel has three Lutheran East alumni on his coaching staff that are making a difference in the lives of current Falcons. The team will close out the regular season with an important home game on Saturday, October 28th at 3 PM against Trinity High School. Come out and cheer on the Falcons as they make a playoff push!

Volleyball

Volleyball is a growing sport at Lutheran East. Unlike basketball or football, many of our students do not grow up playing volleyball. However, two Lutheran East teachers and coaches Ms. Uffelman and Ms. Jabs are working hard to help the Lady Falcons develop as a team and as volleyball players. The Lady Falcons finished what was an up and down season with a loss in the district playoffs, but that doesn’t mean the season was a failure. Quite the opposite is true as the girls worked hard and grew as a team throughout the season. As the girls look back on the season they can be proud of the work they put in, the fun they had, the skills they developed.

A Look Ahead

As the weather changes and we get into Fall and Winter we’re looking forward to both boys and girls basketball as well as indoor track! Student athletes will be working hard to hone their skills and to compete as Falcons!
