Homecoming 2017

This year, Homecoming was held on the last Friday in September and it was night to remember for the Lutheran East community. The game was played under rented lights, like those used for highway construction projects, and attracted a record crowd to Falcon Field. Included among the cheering fans were more than 150 Lutheran East alumni!

Prior to the game we welcomed our alumni back to their alma mater for a BBQ dinner and self-guided tours of the school building. It was fun for graduates, especially those who have spent more than a few years away from the campus, to see improvements and changes to the building. It was even better to hear stories of what made their time at Lutheran East special. There were some major themes in those conversations - teachers who cared, friends that created community, and a Christ-centered education that changed lives. It is encouraging to hear those stories and to see how many of the things that have made Lutheran East special throughout its history are still foundational to who we are today.

The game, unfortunately, didn’t turn out as the Falcon faithful had hoped, but it was still a winning night for Lutheran East. We’re looking forward to more Homecoming and alumni events throughout the year. You can stay up to date about alumni events not only through this newsletter but also through our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts as well as www.lutheraneast.org.
