Coach Calhoun Leads Boys to Season Opening Victory
Lutheran East kicked off the Boys Basketball season with an exciting 67-39 victory over Heritage Christian. It was the debut for new Head Coach Ron Calhoun and the boys team showed a very different style of basketball than in years past. With a suffocating defense led by Matt Hardnick, Robert Drake, and Dante Brye, the Falcons scored easy transition buckets all game long. Matt Hardnick had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Thomas Jackson was on fire from long-range and finished with 18. Making his first Varsity start, Sophomore Robert Drake filled the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 steals, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday 12/5 against Lincoln West at home.
