"The Journey" Men's Basketball in District Final
Lutheran East Men’s Basketball “The Journey”

The Lutheran East Men's Basketball program has had a tremendous season thus far, finishing the regular
season with a 16-5 overall record. The Falcons  are led by a young core of student-athletes who came into this season with one goal, and that was to win a State Championship. "We know that hard work, preparation, and a little bit of luck will all play a factor in whether or not we achieve our goal", said Lutheran East Head Basketball coach Anthony Jones.  "These young men have worked extremely hard all year to get to this point, and we plan to make the most of it."

The Falcons entered the postseason as the #2 overall seed in the Division IV Barberton district.  After winning two straight playoff games the Falcons will now play for the District Championship on FridayMarch 4th, 2016 against #1 overall seed and Mogadore. “This game means everything to us" said Jones. The Falcons have achieved so many small goals this year. 1.) Winning the NEOC Conference. 2.) Earning a top seed in the OHSAA Tournament. 3.) Gain Local and State media exposure.

Should the Falcons win on Friday night, not only will they add a District Championship to their list of accomplishments, they will move on to the Regional semifinals where they will be three wins away from achieving their ultimate goal of winning a state championship.

The great thing about basketball is that with team success comes individual success. On March 2nd, 2016, three Lutheran East basketball players were awarded all district honors.
Senior guard Donald McCain: First Team All-District, Player of the Year Runner Up
Sophomore forward Keandre Graves: First Team All-District, Player of the Year Honorable Mention Sophomore Alexander Heath: Second Team All-District
Head Coach Anthony Jones was also named DIV IV Coach of the Year
