Drama Department Presents "A Raisin in the Sun"!
Drama Department Presents "A Raisin in the Sun"!

The last rehearsal for the fall play is almost “in the can”! Our actors are excited to present the play later this week on Friday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m. This play is a moving story set in the south side of Chicago during the post-World War II era. It depicts the daily struggles of an African American family as they contemplate what to do with a $10,000 insurance check. The money could be absolutely life changing for the entire Younger family. This represents a move in our drama department to produce a play that is also an established piece of literature in the English classroom. It is also the first production under our updated stage lighting and newly constructed set.

Our seniors in the play include: Asya Wright, Andrew Pope, Jeri Pollard, Ayvree Spratley, Karlton Pickens, and Briana Waller. Our juniors in the play include: Re’jeine Smith, Destinee Thompson, and Arielle Pope. Our sophomore in the play is Norman Johnson. Our freshman in the play is Aaron Brabson. All of them have been working incredibly hard to polish their lines and their acting.

Our crew includes seniors: Kamilah Dotson and Justine White. The juniors include: Courtney Elston and Charlotte Crosse. The sophomores include: Nina Sims and Sharde Scott. We also would like to thank Ryanell Phillips, junior for her dedication to helping with set construction during every class
