Teacher Spotlight: Ms.Jabs

Teacher Spotlight: Miss Jabs

This is the third in a series of articles about our new faculty at Lutheran East. This week we focus our spotlight on Miss Rebecca Jabs, sister of the notable and illustrious Mr. David Jabs. Miss Jabs has joined our faculty as a math teacher. We are most pleased that she would move a long way from her previous job to join our team at Lutheran East. Miss Jabs has lots of experience with teaching, she is compassionate with her students, and she shows devotion to serving the Lord in ministry.

During the interview all respondents were asked a series of questions to help us learn more about them. See what Miss Jabs has to say:

L.E.: What is your favorite Bible verse or quote?

Miss Jabs: Psalm 3:3: But you, O Lord, are a shield around me. You bestow glory upon me and lift up my head.

L.E.: Tell us about your family.

Miss Jabs: I am one of four kids. We all enjoy math and sciences. My youngest brother, David, is also a teacher at Lutheran East. This last summer, the four of us got together in LA to watch the Brewers play the Dodgers. It was a great weekend and the start of a new tradition.

L.E.: Tell us about where you went to college.

Miss Jabs: Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska

L.E. Tell us about your hobbies or sports you are interested in

Miss Jabs: I enjoy baking and relaxing at home. I like several sports and enjoy attending professional sporting events.

L.E.: If you had to choose Ohio State or Michigan, which would it be?

Miss Jabs: Michigan

L.E.: Why did you decide to become an educator?

Miss Jabs: I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I liked helping other students as I was in middle school and high school, so think that helped to confirm the fact that teaching would be my profession.

As you can see, we are truly blessed to have a woman of God such as Miss Jabs. We want to wish Miss Jabs many years of service here at Lutheran East. Students and staff alike know that she is an asset to our organization and to those in the community we serve everyday.
