Falcons Comeback Falls Short
Falcons Comeback Falls ShortThe Falcons took on rival and sister-school Lutheran West in the annual end of the season match-up last night.  Lutheran East started the evening by celebrating the careers of their seniors, and then watched those seniors work at a big comeback that fell short in an 83-66 loss.  The game started well for the Falcons, with Thomas Jackson hitting a few big shots in the first quarter.  Midway through that quarter, he turned his ankle and the team lost some momentum.  Lutheran West had a big second quarter to go up 11 at the half.
After half-time, the Falcons came out and got right back in the game.  Seniors Matt Hardnick (27 points), Dante Brye (14 points), and  Brandon Rivers (10 points) led the comeback. Lutheran West got big shots down the stretch from Greg Kunze and and Dan Hillenbrand and were able to fend off the Falcons.
Lutheran East starts OHSAA tournament play on Wednesday (2/27) at Garfield Heights.  Tip-off is at 7:30pm.
