Falcons Drop a Tough Homecoming Game
The Lutheran East Falcons lost a heartbreaker on Saturday to a tough Windham team, 22-12. It was a grinding style of play for both teams as they tested each other on the ground. Although the Falcons defense did very well, the offense could only pull together for 2 trips to the endzone.
The Falcons kicked things off in the first quarter with a 45 yard touchdown strike to Rodney Paradise from Kaylin Heard. Shortly after in the second quarter though, the Bombers answered back with a clock chewing drive to make it an 8-6 game. In a back and forth third quarter, the Bombers were able to extend their lead to 15-6 after a costly fumble by the Falcons. But not to be outdone, Paradise scampered for a 55 yard touchdown run of his own to close the gap to 15-12. Playing tough defense nearly got the ball back into the Falcons hands but unfortunately the Bombers were able to grind out one last possession to extend an unreachable lead to 22-12.
Although the playoff hopes are gone, the Falcons still have an opportunity to accomplish the best record for the school since 2006. They face off against Pymatuning Valley on Friday night at 7:00. Come support your Falcons for one last time in 2015!
