Lutheran East Drama Production Wows with Shakespearean One-Acts!
This past Friday night, the Lutheran East Drama Department put on two one-act plays inspired by Shakespeare. There was Before Juliet - a prequel to the beloved Romeo & Juliet. Starring Senior Rejeine Smith as Romeo's first love, Caroline, the play showed how Romeo came to be at that fateful party that led to his encounter with Juliet.
The second one-act was a dark look at the forces manipulating Macbeth. Starring Senior Nichole Davis as Lady Macbeth and Junior Avery Pope as the title character, the play was a huge hit.
This production marked Mr.Courtney's directorial debut and the acting debut for about half of the students in the production. Mr.Courtney has upped the production values and increased the number of special effects, making for a great evening for the audience.
