Lady Falcons Fall in Tough Home Contest

The Lady Falcons lost a hard fought battle at home on Thursday night against a very good Youngstown Christian. Boasting 3 stellar young guards, Youngstown Christian’s athleticism proved to be a tough matchup for Lutheran East. Leading the way tonight was senior Jeri Pollard posting her 2nd double-double of the week with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Darjaney Edwards anchored the Lady Falcons defense, holding their leading scorer to just 1 point the entire game. Down 11 at halftime, the Lady Falcons came out swinging in the second half and closed the lead to just 5 points with a few key steals by starting point guard Jamara McDowell and sophomore guard Faith Hardnick. Lutheran East played an even game with Youngstown Christian the 2nd half, losing by just 2 points for the 3rd and 4th quarter combined. The Lady Falcons move to 8-3 on the season and get ready for a rematch with Open Door next Tuesday on the road at 4:30 pm.
