Faculty Spotlight: Mr.Jones
Faculty Spotlight: Mr.Jones

This week’s Teacher Spotlight features our Athletic Director and Alumni Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Jones. He is lovingly referred to as “Coach” since he also serves as our Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach. Coach Jones is a tremendous asset to Lutheran East. He has brought his knowledge and success to our boys’ basketball program. It is such a blessing to be able to offer prospective students the opportunity to be in a school where our athletes will be recognized by colleges. In addition, to the basketball program, we do have a full complement of thriving sports in our program including football, volleyball, and track. Coach Jones’ dedication in both time and energy are a tremendous daily blessing to this organization.

When Coach Jones isn’t coaching, he is keeping in touch with our Lutheran East Alumni through our newsletter and through personal meetings. Coach Jones is making every effort to also meet with Lutheran East Alumni who can contribute financially to our school so that God’s ministry will continue to thrive. Not enough can be said about how great it is to have him on staff!

Let’s see what Coach has to share:

L.E.: Tell us about where you went to college.

L.E.: If you had to choose Ohio State or Michigan, which would it be?

Coach: Ohio State

L.E.: Why did you decide to become an educator?

Coach: It was always a goal of mine to become an Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach. I'm extremely blessed to be offered this opportunity.

L.E. : Anything else you would like us to know about you?

Coach: If I'm not at work or coaching basketball, I'm playing with my one-year-old son, A.J. I consider myself to be the best looking individual at Lutheran East. I love the Fast and Furious series. Ohio State Football is my favorite thing to watch on television. I'm also a huge Los Angeles Lakers fans.

It can be said that Coach Jones greatest accomplishment this year is to get us a new mascot. Our new falcon is amazing!! We do, though, sincerely appreciate Coach Jones and his expertise. We wish him many blessings throughout the year.
