2nd Quarter Begins Strong
2nd Quarter Begins Strong

This week was significant in that it marked the beginning of the second quarter of school. We can hardly believe that an entire quarter of the year is finished already. Students have already accomplished so much, and they look ahead to the basketball season beginning even as the football season continues with playoff games. Teachers look forward to continued student success as the entire faculty strives to help students do their very best in all of their classes.

Another highlight of the week was our Thursday chapel speaker, Travis Gulke (District Superintendent of the Ohio LCMS) , who gave a very poignant chapel by showing a video of an artist who drew the crucifixion story in sand art. While the artist drew, Travis annotated the video to help students have a realistic picture of the sacrifice Jesus made by dying for us on the cross, but more importantly what Christ’s resurrection means to us as Christians. It was a chapel that showed the hope and joy that can come from trusting God. Jesus showed us the way by dying for our sins. In addition, we can know that Christ can identify with the trials we face as humans as well as how hard it is to trust and have faith.

A final highlight of the week was the first Life Everlasting Gospel Choir performance which was given to a full house on Friday night. As our choir continues to be better and better each year, God is glorified in the voices that worship him during conference. Under the direction and guidance of Mr. Lipford, students have once again brought down the house for God! We cannot wait until the next performance.

Next week promises to be yet another week full of blessings for which we are all grateful.
