Volleyball Wins Road Contest

The Lady Falcons traveled to Shaw to play the Lady Cardinals on Wednesday evening. It ended up being a great game. The Lady Falcons pushed the Lady Cardinals to 5 sets and ended up pulling out a big win. The Lady Falcons started out strong with a solid 25-17 win in the first set. We were led by a big serving run of 6 by Jeri Pollard to push the lead from 18-16 to 24-16. The Lady Falcons then got a side out and won the game.
The second set the Lady Falcons lost 25-18. Kamilah Dotson had 5 service points and Ashley Greenwood and Destinee Thompson both had 3. The third set was a very tough set as the Lady Falcons led a lot of the match. We were up 20-14. The Lady Cardinals chipped away at the lead and tied it up 23-23. The Lady Cardinals then put it away by scoring the final two points. At this point the Lady Falcons were down 2 sets to 1.
The Lady Falcons then woke up a little bit as everyone had mini runs of serves. Then Victoria Montgomery wanted to put the game away and served 10 straight points to put the Lady Falcons up 23-10. We then sided them out and had one more serve to win. This took us down to the final set which only goes up to 15. The Lady Falcons did not serve very well with a lot of serves going into the net. Ashley Greenwood had a run of 3 serves and Kamilah had a run of 2. The Lady Falcons fought hard and sided out the Lady Cardinals on the first serve 5 times. We ended up winning 15-13. The Lady Falcons are back in action Thursday vs. St. Martin De Porres for senior night. Hope to see all of you there.
