Tyler Eden Announced As New Head Football Coach
Tyler-Eden

Lutheran High School East is pleased to announce Tyler Eden as its next head football coach.

Coach Eden’s previous coaching experience includes serving as linebacker coach at his high school alma mater, University School, in 2019. He was also a passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Greensboro College in 2018.

Eden earned a full scholarship to attend and play football at Division II Lake Erie College (Painesville, OH) and served as student intern coach during his years there. He earned a degree in Sports Studies, which focuses on psychological and sociological aspects of athletics, team dynamics, individual athlete mindset, and coaching.

Eden was a two-time all-state quarterback at University School, where he led the Preppers to back-to-back playoff berths in 2010 and 2011. He was the first quarterback in school history to make the playoffs twice during his career.

A native of Northeast Ohio, Coach Eden grew up in Mentor and remained in the area for high school and college. He resided in the Cleveland Heights area for two years following college, and says that this area of Cleveland is very important to him.

Following college, Eden served as the Alternative to Suspension Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Ohio. Based out of John F. Kennedy and East Tech high schools, he worked primarily with downtown schools. His current employment is with Euclid Preparatory School (Euclid, OH), where he is a Physical Education teacher.

Coach Eden says, “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be the next head football coach at Lutheran East. Since the day I stepped foot into the building, I could tell that there is something very special here, and I am happy that now I too get to be part of that. My mission for this football program is to build up successful student-athletes in their Christian faith, in the classroom, in their communities, and of course on the football field.”

Eden is recently married (July 2019), and he and his wife Kyndra are expecting their first child in May 2020. He says, “Our Christian faith is extremely important to us, and we both look forward to serving the Lutheran East community together.”

When the Fall 2020 football schedule becomes available, it will be posted online at LutheranEast.org/Athletics.
