Lady Falcons Go 1-1 during a Tough Week.
Lady Falcons Go 1-1 during a Tough Week.
The Lady Falcons had a tough loss Tuesday night playing in their first home opener against a
very good Lake Ridge Academy. The Lady Lions came out on fire, hitting 4 3’s in the first quarter
to jump to an early lead. Led by sharp-shooting senior, Darjaney Edwards, Lutheran East came
roaring back in the 2nd quarter and managed to cut the lead to 10 going into halftime. Early into
the 2nd half the Lady Lions’ twin towers (both 6’3”) took over down low and their height proved
to be too much for the Lady Falcons to shut them down. Lutheran East moves to 1-2 on the
year and plays another home game against Whitney Young this coming Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Two nights later, Lutheran East took home their first home win of their young season last night
finishing with a commanding 57-35 victory over Whitney Young. Senior captain
Jazmyne Darby took the lead early for the Lady Falcons coming out shooting hot,
knocking down 2 quick 3’s and a free throw to start the game. Senior captain
Darjaney Edwards took over the scoring role in the 2nd quarter, coming off the
bench putting away 9 points in just 8 minutes. A tenacious full court press led by
Freshman Tyra Robertson (8 steals on the game) proved to be too much for
Whitney Young to handle, holding them to just 13 points in the 1st half! Lutheran
East moves to 2-2 on the year and will tip off their next game on Tuesday, 12/8 at
home against Community Christian.
