Remote Learning due to Extended School Closure:
Monday, April 20 - Friday, May 1
Students and Families,
Based on feedback from faculty, families, and students, we can now pivot to implement Phase 2 of our Distance Learning program. Our goal of challenging our students to grow academically and spiritually has not changed, but there are several notable adjustments to the program which are outlined below.
We will be following our traditional Block Schedule for Phase 2 of Distance Learning. Classes will meet during their assigned times according to slightly modified Schedule #4, which you will find below. 1st through 4th periods will take place on Monday and Thursday and 5/6th through 9th periods will take place on Tuesday and Friday.
Wednesday is now a dedicated communication day. Teachers will plan and schedule times to meet with students as needed, contact families whose students are struggling or not participating, and virtually meet with students that need extra help. Families and students are encouraged to set up time to communicate with teachers as well! This communication will take place between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM. For Wednesdays, all students will be marked present by Mr. Kita in Facts unless the family has notified the school of an illness. Chapel will also be posted each Wednesday in the all-school Google Classroom.
Modified Schedule #4
||Start ||Finish |
|1 or 5/6 ||8:30 AM |
|2 or 7 ||10:15 AM ||11:45 AM |
|3 or 8 ||12:15 PM ||1:45 PM |
|4 or 9
||2:00 PM ||3:30 PM |
During this phase of distance learning, attendance will be taken just like the students were in school. Teachers will input attendance at the beginning of each scheduled class. Please note that we are on our Block Schedule so students will have four classes a day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Families will be notified at 10 AM each day if your child is marked absent during distance learning.
Thank you to our entire community for your preseverance and willingness to adapt during this time.
