Senior Jazmyne Darby Sets the Tone in Big Win on the Road

The Lady Falcons took home their first victory of the season Tuesday night when they defeated Max Hayes 50-19! The Lady Falcons started a small and tenacious line-up led by upperclassmen Jazmyne Darby, Faith Hardnick, and Roscoeria Boyd, followed by some young and upcoming talent: freshmen Tyra Robertson and Nalla Dumas. The intense defense and quick transition play led to a wide range of scoring contributions from a young varsity team . Leading the pack was senior captain Jazmyne Darby who finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists for the night. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Falcons was junior Kaelin Cobb with 10 points, junior Faith Hardnick with 7 points, sophomore Roscoeria Boyd with 7 points and 9 rebounds, freshman Airren Wilson with 6 points, freshmen Nalla Dumas and Tyra Robertson both chipping in 4 apiece, and senior Nichole Davis with 2. Lutheran East moves to 1-1 on the year and now prepares for their first home game against a very good Lake Ridge Academy next Tuesday at 4:30 and 6:00 pm.
