Lutheran East Worships

The Lutheran East school community comes together each Tuesday and Thursday morning for chapel or as it’s currently and affectionately called, “Lutheran East Worships.” During this time I often find myself standing in the back of the auditorium and looking towards the stage. It’s a position that gives me perspective that leads to thankfulness. I’m thankful for our auditorium that becomes our makeshift church when it’s filled by 300 students, faculty members and staff. I’m thankful for local pastors that preach from the Word that’s useful for teaching, rebuking, and training in righteousness. I’m thankful for the songs that are led from the stage and and sung from the heart. I’m thankful for a God that never leaves us or forsakes us.

Lutheran East Worships. That phrase designates not only a time and a space, but also an action and our identity. It’s who we are - we’re a school community that wants to be known for worship and for the God we worship to be made known. Worship at Lutheran East is a unique experience that is not lost on our community. The majority of our students previously attended schools where worship was not part of the culture and that helps us appreciate the opportunity at Lutheran East. It’s an opportunity that is at the heart of our school and the source of what spurs us on in all things.
