Spirit Week Day 5 - Falcon Pride Day
Spirit Week Day 5 - Falcon Pride Day
Spirit Week 2013 finished in blue and white style on Friday as the students celebrated Falcon Pride Day.  In the morning, the Juniors were named the winners of the annual School Pride Hallway Decorating contest, with the Seniors coming in a close second.  In the afternoon's extended Falcon Games assembly, the Seniors hung on for the win in their final year of eligibility against a strong showing by the Juniors.

The Junior class taped Takeia Smiley to the wall and if it weren't for her classmates pulling her down, she might have stayed there all afternoon!  No other class was able to hang anyone for more than 10 seconds.  The Juniors then took home the trophy for winning the Powder Puff Football Game in a close match-up with the upstart Freshman.  The Freshman pulled a stunning upset over the Seniors, led by the QB-WR combo of Christian Burrell and Faith Hardnick.  Freshmen Kymberly Payne and Julian Mack won the trivia contest.  The Falcon Games champion was determined by the final event - the Tug of War.  The Seniors were on the brink of defeat but somehow pulled back and defeated the Juniors to win the week.

Final 2013 Falcon Games Standings:
Sophomores: 14 points
Freshman: 20 points
Juniors: 28 points
Seniors: 29 points

During the assembly, the students were entertained by the 2013 Cheerleading squad, who led a number of cheers and put on a fantastic dance routine.  The 2013 Homecoming Court was also revealed:
Freshman  Lord & Lady: Mark McCary and Maya Vereen
Sophomore Duke & Dutchess: Isaiah Jackson and Akiya Howard
Junior Prince & Princess: Robert Drake and Brianna Waller
Senior King & Queen: Gerald Dorroh and Tiara Finley
