Faculty Spotlight: Mr.Kita

Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Kita

It is time once again to embark on our Teacher Spotlight series. Over the course of coming weeks, we will spend time highlighting the faculty here at Lutheran East. We begin, of course, with our new staff members to give everyone a chance to know a little about them. We have an incredibly talented, thoughtful, and diverse group of faculty who contribute to the successes we experience as a school each year.

For the first Teacher Spotlight, we will feature Mr. Greg Kita. Mr. Kita has joined as Vice Principal in charge of School Culture and Campus Development. That is a pretty broad title, but essentially Mr. Kita handles discipline in school as well as working to further the ministry of Lutheran East as we continue to build our vision for God’s future plans.

During the interview all respondents were asked a series of questions to help us learn more about them. See what Mrs. McNeily has to say:

L.E.: What is your favorite Bible verse or quote?

Mr. Kita: "I Peter 5:8 is my favorite Bible verse.

My favorite quote is, “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day....teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."

L.E.: Tell us about your family.

Mr. Kita: I have been married for 16 years in November. I have 2 children: Gregory 12, in the 7th grade, and Madison, 9 in 4th grade.

L.E.: Tell us about where you went to college.

Mr. Kita: I began at Cleveland State, and then I received Bachelor's Degree from Utica College of Syracuse University. I Received my Master's Degree from Baldwin Wallace in School Leadership.

L.E. Tell us about your hobbies or sports you are interested in

Mr. Kita: I love Basketball and Baseball. I am a huge Cleveland fan.

L.E.: If you had to choose Ohio State or Michigan, which would it be?

Mr. Kita: Ohio State

L.E.: Why did you decide to become an educator?

Mr. Kita: June, July and August (very funny!)

We are truly blessed to have an alumnus of Lutheran East to come back to be in the administration. Mr. Kita has a vital understanding of the mission of our school and why and who we serve to educate and minister to. We wish him a great first year and many more blessed years with the school!
